WYLEY DUFFEY

SafeSpace was performed at Georgia College’s 17th Annual Student Research Conference.  The performance was presented in a sermon format, complete with testimony, cult-like attire, life-sized effigy, and participatory ritual.  The sermon presents absurd convictions that urge the audience to replace day-to day, specialized activities with those guided by self-constructed scripture in order to “symbolically undo repression, reverse restraint, and unleash what [they] desire to subordinate [their] existence to.”
